In December 2016 Gwynedd Council’s Road Safety Unit conducted a "Road Safety Christmas Card" competition with all the county’s primary school pupils with the aim of promoting road safety amongst young children over the festive period.

There were two categories in the competition; the first for Year 1-2 where pupils were asked to colour in a Christmas card that had been designed by the Road Safety Unit and the second category was for Year 3-6, where pupils had to design a Christmas card which gave a clear message on road safety issues which could affect them and how to stay safe over the festive season.

The Council’s Road Safety Unit received a significant number of Christmas cards, and it was very difficult to select the winners. Nevertheless they had to choose, and the Road Safety Unit is proud to announce that the winners were:

Category 1: Mali Grug Roberts from Ysgol Manod, Blaenau Ffestiniog Category 2: Lili-Mei Griffiths from Ysgol Penybryn, Tywyn

In addition to rewarding the winners, the Unit also rewarded the following for their excellet efforts:

Krista Jones from Ysgol Rhosgadfan Jallise Dennis from Ysgol Rhosgadfan Charlie Guest from Ysgol Bodfeurig Tregarth

In recognition of their success the winners were awarded with road safety items, a medal and certificate and also a package of road safety items for the school.

Congratulations to them.
